TOC Thinking Process and Children's Education (8)

Updated: Apr 28, 2022

8) Think again, adults and children are different

In this article, I had considered the three tools of TOCfE while introducing the ideas in development science of "the wall of 4 years old" and "the wall of 9 years old" about the stage of development and growth of children. And I explained that TOCfE has a system suitable for the developmental stage of the child and is a tool to promote correct growth according to the developmental stage.

TOCfE educates these three tools through internationally accredited courses to use common tools not only for children but also for teachers and parents. By doing this, adults can also learn, and by teaching people, they can learn what they can teach, and there is a tendency to grow together.

It can be said that it is one of the characteristics of the TOC thinking process, but in TOCfE, in order to master the tools and perform logical communication, we have established proper rules that act as the "key" that mediates it.

This is the CLR (Categories of Legitimate Reservation), a rule for logical verification, which should be called the fourth tool of TOCfE. The original CLR has seven in Jona Skill, but in TOCfE it is a simplification and there are four checkpoints: "clarity", "existence", "causal effect", and "sufficiency".

To put it simply, the CLR is a checkpoint for "expressing facts in an easy-to-understand manner, without excess or deficiency." It will be the "base" for expanding as a child who trapped in the event in front of.

A child is something that "starts from the 'now' in front of you and spreads your wings step by step." Teaching TOCfE tools to children What is important for adults is to use the CLR well so that children can grasp things firmly and understand their connections as they receive external stimuli (environment / experience) every day.

Repeating this process, I think that I will broaden my perspective, develop ommunication, grow as a person, and achieve my goals in life.

Adults, on the other hand, often "get caught up in various things and get distracted by this and that” and tend to be poor at "narrowing down" many problems. When I asked people who had experience with TOCfE, there were many opinions, that it was difficult to use it for solving complicated organizational problems or I did not know how to use fE tools it if I was caught in such a complex situation.

As I mentioned, Jonah Skill creates a cloud from UDE (problem), while TOCfE creates it from the conflict in front of you. One of the reasons why it is difficult to use is that the difference in this procedure makes it difficult to understand the relationship with the problem because of the conflict at hand. Furthermore, "fE tool the "steps" to identify the root cause (core cloud) of many problems, create injections (solutions), and think about actions to solve them are not clear like Jonah Skill. It seems to be the reason why adults find it difficult to use TOCfE to solve organizational problems.

When considering the fundamental difference between "fE" and "Jonah", you have to think about who each skill is for. The protagonist of TOCfE is a child, and the protagonist of Jonah Skill, which is a common problem-solving method, is an adult. It is important to notice the difference between "adults" and "children", and I think it is the key to mastering these two skills.

So how do you use your TOCfE skills to solve organizational problems? I think the point is to firmly recognize the difference between adults and children embedded in the TOCfE skill system. Because, as I said, adults can recognize problems in their perception of time and space. In other words, it is possible to analyze "past problems" and make "future changes" by "current actions" in the steps of "what, what, how".

As I said, the growth and development of a child starts from "now" and then flaps as "causality of the past" and "realization of future dreams". Both two flows can be considered to be basically the same in that they deal with the three tenses of "past, present, and future."

Therefore, to solve organizational problems using TOCfE skills, it is important to use the three TOCfE tools "branch", "cloud", and "ATT" as tools that handle "three tenses" respectively.

That is,

  1. Analyze "past" problems using branches

  2. Use the cloud to clarify the dilemma that is "current" trapped and come up with a solution

  3. Use ATT to clarify the "future" path to a resolved state

it is very simple; I have described the basic idea for systematically thinking about problem solving in an organization by applying TOCfE skills.

I am very happy if this article helps you.
