Are humans good ... or (2)

Last time, I thought about the relationship between "thinking process" and "cognitive bias", and introduced "Dr. Goldratt's 6 layers of resistance".

However, while Dr. Goldratt has left behind many deeply observed and thought-based teachings about "individuals," he mostly mentions how organizations and teams of human beings differ from individuals. What should I do? I think it is important to consider the difference in the development of cognitive bias between individuals and organizations in Japan, which has a social background that emphasizes harmony (WA), when people gather and consider collective characteristics.

As is generally pointed out, in Western societies, a "contract" with God is the basis of life. The same is true for companies and organizations, where work is done daily based on established contracts (rules), and contracts and regulations clarify who is responsible and who should do what. On the other hand, in Japanese society, we form a family organization with social norms based on human relations, which is based on polytheism. Of course, there are divisions of duties and responsibilities.

However, it is said that what is important in order not to be excluded in the so-called village-bonded society is the courage to read the air and act more than observing the rules and regulations. I think that reforms that use this kind of "human psychology" in reverse and ensure psychological safety centered on group psychology are extremely effective for Japanese corporate society.

In the social sciences, we think that "if society (conditions) changes, humans will change." With that in mind, if we change the preconditions of how the organization should be and how it should be evaluated, human behavior will change, so humans are neither "good" nor "evil" in the first place.

Mr. Ohno of Toyota does not say much about the organization or the human being itself in his book. Instead, it was the "fact" that was positioned as the "basic". He adhered to a thorough ternary principle and was particular about the way he thinks about things based on facts. The phrase says, "As for the production site," data "is of course emphasized, but" fact "is the most important. When a problem occurs, if the cause is not sufficiently identified, the countermeasures will be out of focus, so the "why" is repeated five times, which is a Toyota-style scientific method. It is the basis of attitude.

Interpreting this teaching from a human point of view, by discussing facts based on the facts, it is possible to prevent assumptions (bias) such as aerospace theory and acceptance of the atmosphere of the place, and to think in terms of three realism. I think it is the basis for nurturing. This idea of respecting humanity and emphasizing the field in order to maximize the potential of human beings has been inherited as Toyota's culture, and has evolved into Toyota's unique development style by making full use of human thinking abilities.
